This Sunday marks 100 years since the Armistice was signed in November 1918, bringing an end to the First World War. Appropriately, Armistice Day coincides with Remembrance Sunday for its centenary, the latter always held on the second Sunday in November, regardless of the date.
On 9th November 2018, we held a very moving Remembrance gathering to mark the 100th anniversary of WW1. Our thanks to Mr Brockett; our Design technology teacher, for making the 100 years commemorative display for the service. We listened to the exhortation read by Year 11 pupils who placed crosses and a wreath in memory of all who had died, a two-minute silence was observed by staff and pupils at Houghton Regis Academy.
